Squat Rack – Strength & Performance Training
Taking Rehabilitation to the Next Level
Rehabilitation shouldn’t stop when basic exercises become easy. Our squat rack and dedicated strength training area gives our physical therapists the ability to safely progress patients from early-stage rehabilitation to higher-level strength, functional training, and return to activity.
Progressive resistance training is an important part of rebuilding strength and physical capacity following an injury, surgery, or period of decreased activity. With a squat rack, adjustable barbell loading, and a variety of strengthening options, our therapists can precisely modify resistance and exercise difficulty based on each patient’s abilities, goals, and stage of recovery.
The squat rack can be used for much more than traditional squats. It allows us to incorporate exercises such as squats, deadlifts, lunges, step-ups, presses, rows, and other functional strengthening movements into an individualized rehabilitation program. Exercises can be modified for beginners and gradually progressed as strength, mobility, confidence, and tolerance improve.
Benefits of progressive strength training may include:
Improving lower-extremity, hip, trunk, and upper-body strength
Restoring strength following orthopedic injury or surgery
Improving functional movements such as squatting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying
Increasing tolerance to progressively heavier loads
Addressing strength deficits and side-to-side asymmetries
Preparing patients for the physical demands of work, recreation, and daily activities
Helping athletes transition from rehabilitation toward return-to-sport training
Building confidence with resistance training and independent exercise
Bridging the gap between traditional rehabilitation and long-term strength and fitness
Our physical therapists emphasize proper technique, appropriate loading, and gradual progression. Rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, exercises and resistance are selected based on the individual and progressed as their capabilities improve.
Whether your goal is getting back to everyday activities, returning to the gym, performing a physically demanding job, or competing in sports, our strength training equipment allows us to take rehabilitation beyond the treatment table and help prepare you for the activities that matter to you.
